Windows 10 USB Installation

Estimated read time 1 min read

This is how you create a Windows 10 installation media using a USB Flash Drive, DVD, or ISO image.  It is faster and easier than lugging around an external DVD drive and DVD disc that would get scratched. One can just download the latest Windows ISO image and use it with a USB multi-installer. To setup your flash drive to work with Windows 10 Installation along with Clonezilla and other tools in ONE usb flash drive.  This method also serves as another way to update your Window 10 installation to the latest update such as the October 2020 update.

Addendum: I noticed that if your are running Windows 10 x64bit Pro edition.  The USB installation will auto select a different version.  Microsoft removed the ability of which version of Windows 10 a user could install..  Follow this guide to fix this. Works on USB media by adding the file onto the Sources Folder.  For ISO you need to extract the ISO then add the file.  Then using Infrarecorder to put the ISO back together.  It is Method #3 on this tutorial.
