Acer Aspire 5 A515-47-R1XS

My laptop that I purchased back in 2019. The laptop has served me well. All I did was upgrade the HDD and RAM. Replaced the battery. Came in handy when I was in my Real Estate stint and small business. It was light, held a good charge and worked. I had gaming laptops in my past. They were great but bulky and battery was not great.

After a few years, I decided to upgrade to a AMD Ryzen laptop. Why Ryzen? My desktop computers are running Ryzen and they are work horses. Nothing against Intel. I have not had a AMD Laptop since 2011. I saw a good deal at MicroCenter and purchased this model. I enjoy tinkering and purchased the NVME, RAM and Intel WiFi upgrade. The original WiFi card was a Realtek and if I want to go Linux, I will need an Intel WiFi card.

I installed Pop OS Linux but my hardware to new and did not take. I dislike Windows 11 and looking for alternatives. My bet is going Windows 12 or Linux. Even though the laptop came with Windows 11 Home. I purchased a Windows 10 Pro key and got it to work. Been my workhorse laptop to and from my current job. Both CPU and integrated GPU have been solid. I can record, stream and game. All around great purchase.
