Docker Server pt2
The last few months have been working on my Docker Server. Learning to work with, setting up and maintaining containers within Docker. Tinkering in my off time here and there. Getting everything to work together. Have been adding and removing services over time. These are my core containers.
- Ubuntu Server 22.04 – Base Operating System with SSH configuration
- Docker CE – Main
- Portainer CE – The GUI Front end for Docker
- Nginx Proxy Manager – Reverse Proxy Manager and auto renews SSL with Let’sEncrypt
- Nextcloud – Replaced Google Contacts, Calendar, Drive. Works on computers and smartphone.
- Vaultwarden – Password Manager
- Piwigo – Family Photo Website
- Littlelink Custom – Personal Self hosted Allmylinks alternative
- Bookstack – Personal Wiki for records and notes for personal projects and work
- Home Assistant – Fine tuning my smart home and this is my central hub

The main focus was to learn something new. The added benefit was to own my data and not have to pay someone else to spy on my data. Not that I am important to be spied on. When you read a lot of tech security articles stating how “big tech” sells your information. This is my way of opting out. I enjoy working with opensource software and the more I learn the more I enjoy the journey.
