Estimated read time 2 min read

What has been updated since our last post? There have been a few updates in the short amount of time.  This is what was covered for Phase 4 of this project.

  1. Purchased an Odyssey PC to install Untangle Firewall.  Demoted my wireless router to Access Point.
  2. Upgraded my 16 port switch to a 24 port Managed POE+ switch.
  3. Purchased a 3D Printer and started to print a few projects.
  4. 3D Printed my Raspberry Pi 2U rack and installed it onto my network rack.
  5. Purchased 2 Raspberry Pi with POE Hats.  The POE hats power the Rpi (Raspberri Pi) without needed AC Adapters.
    1. One is setup for Nextcloud
    2. Another is setup for PiHole network ad blocker
  6. Rebuilt my NAS Server.  Swapped out CPU and motherboard.  Installed a dedicated NVME, 32GB ECC DDR4 Ram and Dual NIC card.  I will bond both ethernet adapters to work as a single line for better delivery on my network.  Using the upgraded switch mentioned from above.
  7. 3D Printed a Rackmount Modem shelf.  I relocated my modem that was install on my desk onto my network rack.
  8. I cut and terminated all of the network cables to the proper length on my rack.

What will be included for phase 5? I have a few ideas that currently being planned out.  Overall, I am very happy how this is turning out.
