Streaming Services
With having Android TV Boxes in the home. I figured I should say which ones I use for the cord cutters out there wanting some ideas. Watching a lot of cord cutter YouTube Channels over time and implemented some of their ideas and implemented my own as well. Having these services enabled reduces the dependence on streaming services.
- HDHomerun – Works great with the hardware and over the air antenna to get local channels.
- YouTube – Catch up on your the people you follow
- PLEX – Great way to watch the content you have in your home. Great for sharing family home videos and pictures with family members. Also PLEX has included free movies to stream if you make an account with them.
- PLUTO – It has a great shows, movies and music. Channel range of 750 and above has great Spanish section.
- TUBI – Many categories. They have one category for that included movies that Netflix removed on their stream. Great Movies in Spanish and kids shows that are in Spanish. Which is great for other family members who are teaching their kids Spanish.
- OLDMOVIES – This is nothing but classic old films. I enjoy watching this and appreciate the non CGI type of films where the story actually matters.
- VIKI – Great Korean Dramas. Not a fan of dramas but they have some that are great stories lines and plots. Worth a watch.
- AccuWeather – Great addon to see what the weather is going to be like by the hour, daily or weekly.
With this selection I don’t have a need to go and get Amazon Prime, Netflix, and etc. Why pay for entertainment when you can get it without a recurring monthly charge.
